Evelyn de Castro is a speech-language pathologist who works with children and families to support meaningful communication. She brings a warm, collaborative and evidence-based approach to her work, with a strong emphasis on building trust and connection. She supports children with a wider range of communication profiles, including children who may be difficult to understand, minimally speaking, navigating language or literacy challenges, and families who are exploring or needing support with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Evelyn has more than 20 years of experience supporting children in early intervention, schools, and private practice settings across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. She currently works as an AAC speech-language pathologist in a public school district, supporting students with complex communication needs.
She also provides professional learning for educators and parents in areas such as AAC implementation, speech sound development, language and literacy, and gestalt language processing. Her work on collaborative classroom practices has been featured in BC Teacher Magazine.
